PARENT-TEEN CHAT: "Can you hear me now?"

Featuring Laetitia Benberry RN, BSN, abstinence and childbirth educator; BeverlyCallison, executive director, Pregnancy Information Center; and John Anthony, sheriff deputy and youth worker

The objectives of this Parent-Teen chat include:

  • Helping parents really listen to their teenager, build communication and connect life choices to consequences
  • Encouraging parents to educate with purpose, teach values, train for success and prevent problems
  • Warning parents and teens of the potential legal consequences of the improper use of texting (sexting), photos and other technical devices
  • Providing parents and teens with accurate and updated information about STDs, the emotional effects of teen sexual activity
  • Assisting parents to effectively communicate the message of abstinence to their teens
